"Oh--that's all right," Fern assures her hastily. And it is, she realizes; maybe that's one lesson that Sina taught her in life that she can use, still learn from. Sometimes it doesn't always help to talk through things. Sometimes maybe it's better to just let things be, at least for a little while.

She seems to deliberate over what to do next a bit awkwardly for a moment, before asking, "Do you like animals much?" A pause, to let that out of left field question sink in, before she adds, "I've got a stubborn mule in the stables. I can introduce you to him, if you like."

Rooster better make a good first impression. >:c

The pause gave her enough time to blink in surprise. Of all the comments she'd expected, asking about animals hadn't been one of them. Surprising enough apparently for her to take a minute to even respond after the clarification. It gets a small laugh out of her (because stubborn mule, could it get any better), and she gives a small nod.

"Yeah. I like animals more than most people. A stubborn ass is way cuter when it's not a human one." Says the queen of being a stubborn ass.
